12pm – LILAC- Low Impact Living Affordable Community housing project in Leeds

LILAC is a pioneering project which aims to build a community of 20 homes.

1pm – living on boats - a workshop/discussion about living on boats

2pm – kids in radical housing.

3pm - benders - a workshop about living in benders.

housing co-ops- a workshop about how to set up a housing co-op.

4pm – communal living discussion

5pm – Self-build – a workshop about straw bale housing buildings.

there will also be stall from LASSN, SNaRL,Radical Routes, Straw bale build + more where you can gain information.

The event is free and will be a day of stalls, workshops and discussions exploring issues such as self-build housing, housing co-ops, boating, communal living, low-impact dwelling, squatting, bringing up children in unusual situations and more.  The organisers are individuals who themselves have experience of living in these situations and want to
share their skills and knowledge.

A Take control of your Housing event is being held May 15th in Leeds city centre, promoting alternative housing solutions. Workshops, stalls and discussions will be held throughout the day exploring coops, squatting, low-impact housing, travellers, and other alternative solutions.

Food and tea available througout the day and a delicious dinner will be held at the Commonplace, a autonomous social centre in Leeds city centre.
